Dear Topshop,
I have a love/hate relationship with your brand, your plans to come to America, and your ability to take inventory.
Whenever I visit your site, I immediately want to add every “waistcoat,” bathing suit and even playsuit into my basket, but when I take a closer look, your items seem a little lopsided, scraggly, and/or overpriced.
When you told me that you were coming to New York, I got even happier, because the annual visits I make to the Big Apple would let me scrutinize the quality of your clothes in person, giving me a better idea of how to shop online in the future. Unfortunately, you continue to dash those plans, and heaven knows when you will actually make it to the U.S.
Finally, your Kate Moss for Topshop initiative is brilliant, but why do you only make a certain number of each item, knowing full well that even if you doubled your inventory, everything would still sell out, just not in the first fifteen seconds? The only thing I really wanted anyway was this Triangle Rock dress, because it’s reasonably priced for a fun party/holiday dress and is one of the few designs that (because of the black and white photo shoot) looks in real life anything like it does on Kate.
Sincerely, FSML
