The NY Post‘s Page Six is reporting that Anna Wintour is thinking of…retiring? And no, it’s not to take on some other venture or dominate women’s fashion and trends in another, more cutting edge venue, it’s because she’s “tired.”
If Anna really does retire, will that mean the final end of American Vogue? It’s already gotten flack for being inferior to its European sisters like Paris Vogue, and with the economy hitting at all magazine outlets, especially Conde Nast, I bet a lot of the staff are squirming in their seats with this rumor. Even if it does mean the end of lettuce for lunch.
On the upside, maybe Wintour’s replacement will be willing to take a smaller salary in an effort to bring back Fashion Rocks?

Frankly, I also prefer Vogue Italia and UK to the US version. I’ll flip through it, but I rarely find the fashion in US Vogue exciting.
