Forget Marchesa and Lacroix, Michelle Obama should be wearing one of Aidah Fontenot’s hand-painted inauguration blouses, designed in honor of the 2009 celebration.
Or at least you can wear one to any of the inauguration parties you’ve no doubt been invited to.
Each of the blouses is completely original, and Aidah says that “since a teenager, [she has] been passionately involved in works to facilitate understanding in race and human relations,” which inspired her to create this collection.
They’re only available for a limited time but come with an engraved key chain and luggage tag. And, if you live in the D.C. metro area, you can even request to have your blouse delivered to your residence or hotel room.
Aidah’s even given a blouse to SJP to wear to the inauguration, so keep watch. Help me keep tabs on what she, Michelle, the girls, and all the other high-profile guests will be wearing on Tuesday.
