Probably the one thing I hate most about summer is that dressing cute gets hard. In the south, there is no such thing as pleasant summer evenings, and the only time it’s okay to be outside is if you’re on the beach or running from the parking lot into the air-conditioning, and preferably not during the middle of the day. Wearing clothes period seems as absurd as wearing a bikini in the winter time, and items you’d consider staples (like pants) in other climates are packed away until late fall.
So why is Teen Vogue dressing up Selena Gomez in suede hiking boots under her sundresses, during a shoot in Puerto Rico? I love bringing the 90s back, but aren’t Docs and Timberlands more back-to-school than Memorial Day? Or, would you rather sweat it out in boots during the summer than look like everyone else in flip flops or gladiators?

I totally agree with your opinion of shoes being hard when choosing what to wear because the evening allways do get chilly and if you have got a pair of gladiator sandals on then your feet are going to get nippy!
Check out my post on Summer Shoes, I didn’t take into consideration about chilly evenings, but whats a girl without moaning about ridiculous shoes so that she looks nice!?
