A summer without Gossip Girl drama is hardly worth living, so it’s good news (I think) that there’s an antidote on the way: NYC Prep.
NYC Prep is Bravo’s reaction to Gossip Girl mania, and while real snotty, skinny, bratty 15-year-olds are generally less likable than they appear to be on fictional TV, there’s potential that the show (which premiers tomorrow) will satiate Blair and Serena fans’ withdrawal-induced hunger for the fake, glossy, skinny, witty 17-year-olds we’d like to be in our next lives. ELLE calls the show “sociologically satisfying” for its shockingly hysterical “oh-no-she-didn’t” moments as well as its portrayal of the sobering theme, Too Much Money Ruins Lives.
