Aspen bags
Do you need a new bag? Like, a really good, really cute one? Take half a second and forget what you know about gorgeous name-brand bags or name-brand prices and start over, tabula rasa.
Now make room in your mind for The Jack Rabbit Collection, an LA-based (as in, everything is handmade in the heart of LA by families of artisans picked by the designer) that uses heart-stoppingly soft leather to make belts and handbags for people like Agyness, Kate Moss, and you. It’s sold at Harvey Nichols, Neiman Marcus, Shopbop and a few other places, but you should shop directly from their site, because everything is heavily discounted. As in, the Aspen bag (top) retails for $575, but you can get it for $371. There’s free shipping, but the trade off is no refunds.
I’m also a huge fan of the ladylike Concord bags (below, left), which are just slouchy enough for downtown looks, too. And Kate Moss carries around the Easy Rider (below, right), whch is discounted to $520.

Are you sure all products are handmade in LA? I was really interested in purchasing one after hearing about them through friend, but I was immediately turned off once she mentioned that she had heard many are actually manufactured in Mexico?

Margeaux: Their website and press materials say that they’re “entirely handmade in Los Angeles.”

I’ll check on it, though: thx for bringing up the discrepancy!
