I’ve written a couple of times about Nepali by TDM Design scarves: they’re soft, come in all sorts of colors and designs, and are made from natural fabrics in collaboration with women weavers in Nepal. And now Michelle Baldwin and Michelle Taylor-Spearman want to bring you in on the back end.

Together (and with other bloggers — so you’ve got some competition!) we’re sponsoring a contest for one of you to win the opportunity to design your own scarf. Scarves can be made from any of the natural fibers normally used:

• Cashmere
• Silk Chiffon
• Cashmere/Silk blend
• Bamboo
• Cashmere/Bamboo blend

and with any dyeing, pattern or weaving techniques. Color choices are located here, and you’ll need to specify length and width. You can also change up an existing Nepali by TDM Design scarf (but of course can’t copy any of their designs directly).

And designs can be drawn, Photoshopped or created in any of the file types listed in the instructions below, and the deadline to enter is December 10th.

• By submitting, submitter agrees to all of the contest rules.
• Designs need to be submitted by December 10th
• All designs must be original ideas.  Please include the source of inspiration. (movie, place, own imagination, etc)
• Readers are encouraged to submit designs in color.  Color must be specified on the designs. Please refer to their color chart here
• There is no restriction to how many entries a submitter may submit.
• Any submitted design becomes the property of TDM Design Inc.  (They have to do that to protect themselves legally)
• Designs are to be emailed to contest@tdmdesigninc.com or mailed to NEPALI by TDM Design, 12311 Stoney Creek Road, Potomac, MD 20854.  Acceptable electronic formats are jpg, bmp, psd or pdf.
• Designs need to include: fiber content (see list above); scarf size, scarf design (eg: dyeing design, print design, fabrication design, weave)
• NEPALI by TDM Design reserves the right to make minor revisions to the scarf design.
• NEPALI by TDM Design reserves the right to reject any submission.
• Submitters must be 18 years or older.  If submitter is younger, they can still submit a scarf design but it must be submitted on behalf of minor by a parent or guardian.
• Submitters name and email address must be marked clearly on the design or in the email submitted.
